Overview and Learning Objectives
The overall Perio Review program is for periodontists preparing to take the Oral Exam (Part II) for certification by the American Board of Periodontology. For practicing periodontists who are board-certified, the 2½ day weekend review is an enjoyable and practical way to participate in a comprehensive review and update. Those general dentists and dental specialists who are interested in periodontics are welcome to attend the 2½ Day Review.
After participating in the 2½ - Day Comprehensive Review & Update program, participants should be better prepared to explain:
· Current concepts, particularly as they relate to management of patients with advanced periodontal diseases and dental implant therapy
· New developments and specific topics covered in this overall review and updated in periodontics
· Systematic diseases’ influences on periodontal disease, patient management, and periodontal medicine
· Management of office emergencies and the diagnosis of oral lesions
LSU’s 47th Annual Perio Review is not approved, recommended, or endorsed by the American Board of Periodontology and thus should not be construed as an official guide in the preparation for any certifying board examination. The statements, ideas, and opinions expressed in this comprehensive review course and mock oral board exams participation program are those of the individual faculty members and in no way reflect the statements, ideas, and opinions of any specialty certifying organization.
Every effort was made to present the program details and schedule as accurately as possible from information available at the time this brochure was prepared. LSUCDE reserves the right to make changes to the program, if necessary, and announce notice of changes during the program.
